Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Cody. He was found as a stray shot in the testicles. The vets estimated his birthday to be Aug 20, 2020. He weighs 48 lbs and has a short hair coat. We believe he is a border collie/Terrier mix.
Cody, (formerly Sammy ) was adopted in February but was returned as his owner has been diagnosed with Alzheimers and kept leaving the door open when the wife was out and he would escape. For his safety, it made sense to bring him back to Barks and Meows Rescue.
Cody is a real sweetheart. He is a quiet, smart fellow. He is not a high-energy dog but is always up for playtime with other dogs and family time. He is housebroken and is not destructive in the home. He is very clean and enjoys curling up on the couches and chairs at home. He was very good with ages of children. We do not know how he is with cats so will look for a cat-free home. This sweetie is not hyper. He is very calm for a terrier mix. He enjoys going out for a walk on a leash. His recall is very good in a fully fenced area. He does wonderful with dogs of all sizes. Sammy loves his meal times and takes treats very gently. He rides very well in the vehicle. Cody was neutered right away when he was found after being shot with zero issues. He really enjoys playing outside in the snow. He is great with children and dogs, of all ages
The ideal home for Cody is one where he gets lots of walks. Cody would do well with any family as long he is not left alone for long periods.
Cody is neutered, up to date with vaccines, heartworm tested negative,is on heartworm/flea/tick prevention.
A fully fenced backyard, a cat-free home and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory in order to apply for our Sammy.
