The key to our success is the process we use for matching dogs to people and people to dogs. If you and your family are looking to bring a rescued dog into your home, we can help make that process a fun and life changing experience, for both humans and dogs alike.
Rescue Dogs come from a variety of places – from shelters, owner surrenders due to the economy and loss of jobs, owner health issues or even owner death, legal seizures, or commercial breeders. It’s really not important where they come from or why, it matters that they have a second chance at love and a furever family. If you are interested in adopting one (or more) of our dogs, please submit the ADOPTION APPLICATION below. Our first priority is placing the right dog in the right home. We cannot take phone calls regarding available dogs.
Good things are worth waiting for. Thank you for your interest in helping one of our sweet rescue dogs.
NOTE: Barks and Meows Rescue will always give precedence to previous adopters if they wish to adopt a second or third time from our Rescue. This means their applications will be accepted in advance for a dog that is not yet posted available for adoption. This is one of the perks from coming back to our Rescue again, for one of our beautiful canines.
We do not adopt out our dogs to homes with children under the age of 6. Â
Please review the various dogs on our Available Dogs Page. Read the bio's carefully. Look for a dog that matches the dynamics of your current home. Each dog has different temperaments and characteristics, so know what you want to have in a companion.
If you find what you believe may be a match for your family, please complete the adoption application below. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR INBOX AND SPAM FOLDER FOR A RESPONSE FROM US WITHIN HOURS OF YOU SUBMITTING THE APP!
If you are considered a potential match, we will make arrangements via e-mail to setup a telephone interview with both spouses in the home.
If the telephone interview goes well, then we will contact your vet clinic to confirm history and compliance with your current and or previous pets.
Once the Vet Check is complete, Barks and Meows will eMail a contract to you. If we mutually agree, after the interview, that it may very well be a match, the foster home will set up an interview with you either at your home or at the foster home. All family members who reside in the home, as well as any resident canines that live with you, must be present for the home interview.
If your family is chosen as a "forever home" for our dog, then you will need to complete and sign an adoption contract outlining our policies and procedures at the time of the home visit.
