Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Pickle Pete. He is one of 7 puppies, born to Mommy Angel on January 19th. This is National Popcorn Day so they have all been named after popcorn flavours. They are yellow lab mixes. They will have short/medium hair coats when fully grown. We do not expect them to reach more than 45-50 lbs. There are 4 girls and 3 boys in the litter.
Mommy Angel came to us as a pregnant stray, an owner surrender. She was a fabulous Mom, and it was obvious to our trained eyes, that this was not her first litter. All the pups look identical, and we can only tell them apart by their microchips.
All the pups as of this writing, have the same personality. They are all paper-trained, playful, socialized with both dogs and people and great with children. They are fed 3 times daily and are currently on Iams Puppy Food. They love to talk when they are playing and have learned the routines in the foster home very quickly. These are very smart babies and will be wonderful family additions. They have all sorts of toys and of course, are teething so chew toys are the best. These guys love to run and are always chasing after each other, playing tag! They are used to being bathed and are very good in the tub, They are all good-natured and loving. Currently, when riding in vehicles, they are crated, do not get sick, and hold their bladders.
The ideal homes for them are ones where a family is home enough to train and spend time with them. Certainly, another older socialized resident dog would be beneficial to teach them the ropes in their new homes.
On March 15, they had their first set of vaccines, including Bordetella, and were microchipped. Pickle Pete weighed 4.4 kg.
UPDATE: On April 26, he received his second set of vaccines including Lepto and Lyme. He weighed 11.8 kg.
UPDATE: On May 21 he received his final set of vaccines. He weighed 16.8 kg.
A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for our Pickle Pete.
