Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Simba.  He is a 7 month old, maybe Aussie/Spaniel mix.  He weighs 58lbs and most likely will reach 70lbs when full grown.  He has medium length fur though it may eventually become long.  He was found as a stray.

Simba is a lovely boy.  He was found as a puppy having the flaps of his ears chopped off, a portion of his tail and the bridge of his nose having second degree burns.  His hearing is perfectly fine and he had no health issues.  He was given the name of Simba due to the way his ears now resemble "Simba" from the Lion King!

Simba has been on Royal Canin Medium Breed puppy food since his arrival into our Rescue.  He will need to be changed over to Large breed puppy food next month.  He is fed three times daily.  This fellow loves to play outside.  He loves water, rain, snow, playing with sticks and other dogs.  He is quite low energy for a puppy.    He gets warm easily so if he gets up on the bed, he jumps off after awhile.  Currently he sleeps in a crate.  He is housebroken and paper trained.  He loves attention but is not overbearing in the slightest.

He has so much adoration for children.  He no longer mouths when he is excited.  Simba doesn't jump up on people.  He needs more work on a leash but loves going out and meeting people.  He's a chewer currently so requires crating when the family is not home.  Currently he gets car sick so he needs to travel on an empty tummy.

The ideal home would be one with a large yard.  He loves to lay outside chewing on a stick and toys.  He doesn't require an active lifestyle other than a walk each day but he would thrive going to a cottage or beach where he could swim.

He is good with dogs but we do not know about cats.

Simba is neutered, hw tested negative up to date with vaccines and will start heartworm prevention June 1.

A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for Simba.
