He has food aggressive tendencies and will also get grumpy if he’s being pet when he doesn’t want to be or when he’s had enough of being pet. He has growled and snapped and household family members. He has chronic ear infections and allergies. Ears are cleaned on a weekly basis to help decrease infections, also uses burrow solution once a week to decrease infection. Ernie is currently on a no chicken diet as per our vets instruction. Ernie has severe separation anxiety, he cannot be crated or closed off to a certain area in the home, needs full access to home. Will scratch doors, jump gates, rip up flooring, and ultimately hurt himself if he’s close off at all. Could be claustrophobia from being in humane society? He scratches and bites himself due to his anxiety (he has made himself bleed in the past). He is not overly active but does enjoy walks, the dog park, hikes, and doggy daycare. He does like to play with other dogs but very high energy dogs are not Ernie’s favourite.
