Teamo

Hi! My Name Is Teamo

We're happy to tell you that Teamo has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Teamo. He is the lone survivor of a litter of 9 puppies who contracted Canine Herpes from their Mom during birth on Nov 2/2019. To survive such a virus is very rare, so it shows you just how strong his immune system was to fight it off. Mommy Zoey was rescued already pregnant from a high kill shelter. She is a beautiful Black Mouth Cur mix, very muscular and strong which is where we believe Team gets his physique from. We do not know who the father of the litter is or what breed he is. Teamo is our very special boy. We are very grateful for all the support our followers have provided both him and us as we wished every moment he would continue to fight off the virus. Teamo was named by Isabelle Ross, who is one of our foster home's daughters. It means "fighter" in Spanish. This little guy is amazing. He spends a great deal with Mommy Zoey still and has been socialized with other dogs in the foster home. His eyesight is excellent which was great as he could have been born blind. He loves to play with toys and the other dogs and shows no fear of the adult dogs in the home. He is very smart and clean which are all the traits of a Black Mouth Cur. He was paper trained at 5 weeks. He is fed 4 times daily, Royal Canin Medium Breed Puppy food. Teamo sleeps through the night with his mom in the whelping area. He has met children at his photoshoot and was in his glory. He thrived on all the attention. He loves to give kisses to everyone. He is quite mouthy already so is teething. He likes to play tug of war with his foster family. On Friday, Dec 27th, Teamo will receive his first set of vaccines. We will have bloodwork done as well to ensure his organ values are normal. We are confident that all will be well and he will then be available to leave for his new adopter's home right after. Teamo will be a medium-size dog when fully grown. His Mom is 50lbs. He has short hair as does Mommy Zoey. He has not been exposed yet to stairs or the outdoors. The ideal home for our Angel will be one where there is another dog to help teach him the ropes. This is always the ultimate as it makes training so much easier for all. He will eventually be food motivated which too, helps with training. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance is mandatory in order to apply for our Teamo.
