Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Sassy. She is a Border Collie Mix with a medium length hair coat. Sassy is a year old and weighs 43lbs. She was an owner surrender as her family was moving and couldn't take her with them. Sassy is a very fun loving girl. She is still a big puppy and is always on the go. She loves to play with toys and definitely with all dogs that are game to play with her. She plays very nicely with the other dogs but is vocal. Tug of war with rope toys is a favorite of hers. The shelter advised that she likes to chase cats. As Sassy is still young, she is in the chewing stage. Thankfully she is crate trained which is a necessity for the young dogs when one is not home. Sassy listens quite well and is fully housebroken. She does pretty well in a vehicle but requires leash training as she is not used to being walked. This baby girl loves to eat. Her food is measured out twice daily so as not to overeat. Sassy takes treats very nicely, She may reach 45 lbs when fully grown. Sassy is a quiet dog and not yappy. Once adopted and bonded with a family, she may be a good candidate to be off-leash on hikes and at cottages. Her recall is very good. Sassy is very affectionate and loves to give kisses and cuddles. She has a tiny head and a beautiful shiny coat. At night she sleeps on a doggie bed in her foster parent's room. Sassy is wonderful with children of all ages. The ideal home for Sassy is one where the family is home a fair amount due to her age and energy level. Another resident socialized canine would be a bonus. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance are mandatory to apply for Sassy. Sassy is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4dx tested negative and on heartworm flea prevention for November.
