Sage

Hi! My Name Is Sage

We're happy to tell you that Sage has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Sage. She is a Mountain Cur/Lab mix. Se is two years old and has short hair. She weighs 48lbs. She was found as a stray with a microchip. Both phone numbers for the microchip were no longer in service. Sage behaves like a one-year-old dog, not a two-year-old. She is in the chewing stage but thankfully is not a mouther. She is learning her manners now that she is in foster care. She plays with the other dogs like a puppy and can be overbearing during playtime as she doesn't know her strength. Sage is a very loving girl. She knows her basic commands and is crated at night and when her foster family is not home due to her age. She is housebroken and paper trained. What a huge appetite Sage has. Her food is measured out and she is on Puppy food as she does appear to have a high metabolism. Sage does best on dog food that has grain in it. Part of her playtime involves toys and she loves all sorts. She can be bossy with the other dogs when playing but this is part of the Mountain Cur makeup. She rides excellently in the vehicle and was very good for the photographer. Sage is food motivated which has helped with her crate training. She loves to play outdoors and always has to be called in as she is one of the last to come running in. She will require leash and body harness training. Sage loves to cuddle on the couch with her family members. She is very social and her new family must continue to socialize her with people and other dogs for the rest of her life so that she does not become too protective of the family. The ideal home for Sage is one where she has family members to play with and interact with. She is still a pup so she requires extra attention. The family should be taking her to obedience training, which she will excel at due to her intelligence level. It is another great way to continue the socialization process. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory in order to apply for our Sage. Sage is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4DX tested negative and dewormed.
