Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Roxy. She is a 10-month-old bundle of love. We believe she is a lab/Great Dane mix. She had medium-length fur and very long legs. She currently weighs 65lbs but we believe she will reach at least 80lbs when fully grown. She was an owner surrender as the family said she was too much for them. Roxy is very well for an adolescent. Her previous family did a very good job on her basic commands. She has all the qualities of a lab and the body shape of a Great Dane. She is great with all dogs and cats. She is the perfect family dog as she loves children. We have found that she does best with another dog in the home that is large enough and willing to play with her. She enjoys her food and is fed twice daily. Roxy is housebroken and paper trained. We have found that as long as she has toys to play with and a canine buddy to play with, crating is not required. She rides well in the car. Roxy enjoys playing with balls and rope toys. She loves to cuddle on the couch and give kisses. She sleeps either on the couch or a doggie bed as she tends to get too warm on her foster parent's bed. Roxy will be a good candidate for off-leash hikes and cottages once she bonds with the family. She is extremely sweet and is always around the family members. She requires work on her leash walking but is certainly game to learn. She gets so excited at parks etc so needs more desensitizing to walking in the city. The ideal home for Roxy is one with an active family. The home needs to have a socialized and playful large canine for Roxy to bond with. A family that takes their dogs most places is ideal. She doesn't mind the rain so will probably like swimming. Roxy is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4DX tested negative, on heartworm, flea and tick prevention as well as microchipped. A fully fenced yard, a Veterinarian History of Compliance and another large playful canine is mandatory in order to apply for our Roxy.
