Rosa

Hi! My Name Is Rosa

We're happy to tell you that Rosa has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Rosa.  She was one of 11 puppies born to Mommy Stella on July 20 but one of only 5 who survived the Parvo outbreak.  She is a healthy pup now weighing 5.3 kg at 9 weeks.  She has a medium-length coat.  Her Mom is a golden/lab/retriever and her father is a Red Retriever.  She will be about 50 lb when fully grown.

Rosa has a very lovely disposition.  She can be found wherever her littermates are.  Rosa's fur may end up being long once she is fully grown.  She plays very well with her siblings.  This litter's favourite type of toys is interactive ones.  They are brilliant and like toys that make them think.  She enjoys being outside and plays outside with the other dogs in her foster home.  Gryphon, another puppy currently up for adoption, plays all the time with this litter, though he is 2 weeks older.  Currently, she is the smallest female and the one with the reddest colouring like her Papa.  She has blonde eyebrows.

Rosa currently is eating Royal Canin Medium Breed Puppy Food three times a day.  She is learning to go outside and is paper-trained.  She is fabulous in the bathtub and for having her nails done.  She does very well in the vehicle in the car and does not get carsick.

Rosa has typical Retriever traits including enjoying carrying things in her mouth, playing chase with the other dogs, and being extremely affectionate.

The ideal home for Rosa is one with a family who will take her to obedience classes and teach her to walk on a body harness and lead.  One day, when she is fully bonded and trained with her family, she will be a good candidate to be off-leash at a cottage or on hikes.  We are not sure how he will be with birds, but his Mother Stella hates them.  As always, a second socialized resident dog in the home is a bonus.

Rosa is healthy, and up to date with vaccines, including Bordetella, microchipped, and heartworm/flea/tick prevention.  Her spay will be included in her adoption fee at the West Lorne Animal Hospital.

A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for Rosa.

Thank you very much to Melissa Caron Photography for capturing their true selves in these photos!
