Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Peter. We were told he is a Scotch Collie/Border Collie mix. He is the sibling of Paul and Mary and is the smallest. At 8 weeks he weighed in at the vet at 7.8KG. He has medium-length fur. He as surrendered with his siblings from a backyard breeder, along with 23 other dogs that the backyard breeders could not sell. We believe he will get to be 45lbs when full grown at the most.
Peter was very timid when he came to our Rescue. He had gained a lot of confidence watching his siblings play with other dogs now and joins in every time. He has learned to accept love and cuddles from his foster family too. It was obvious, he never had that before. Peter eats three times daily. He, like his siblings, loves to play outside. He plays chase but is easily bowled over by the bigger dogs in the foster home so plays chase with his siblings instead. He loves to dig as well.
Peter is very sweet, like his siblings, and is showing border collie traits throughout. He is a talker, he learns quickly, he is eager to please, loves to chase, and loves the outdoors. He is fed Royal Canin Medium Breed Puppy 3 times daily in his crate but sleeps on a doggie bed. None of this litter enjoys being crated. Peter loves to play with all sorts of toys.
He will be a fairly high-energy pup when fully grown. He will also need a job to do to keep stimulated and motivated. Both his breed mixes are herding breeds so would be fine on a farm or with a family with a large fully fenced yard who will enroll him in obedience and agility classes.
Peter has had his first set of vaccines, is microchipped, dewormed and on heartworm/flea tick prevention. His neuter at 6 months will be paid for by Barks and Meows Rescue at the West Lorne Animal Hospital. Thank you Melissa Caron Photography in your ability to take such wonderful photos under any circumstances.
