Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Paisley. She is a 5 year Chihuahua/Dachshund. Paisley has a short hair coat and was an owner surrender due to neglect. Paisley arrived in Barks and Meows care in August. We had her treated in Georgia, where she came to us from for Sarcoptic mange as she was surrendered to Rescue due to neglect. Flies had eaten through the tips of her ear flaps. She was presumed pregnant but vets determined she was not. At the time she had not been vetted, so we had all her vetting done. We had a dental done where 7 of her teeth were extracted due to decay. She now has a beautiful hair coat as all of it has since grown in. She is fed twice daily a diet of small breed dry food, mixed with warm water and canned. She currently weighs 8.6 kg and is at her ideal weight. Paisley has a wonderful temperament. She adores children as we noted at the park when we had her photos done. She is good around the other dogs in the home and sometimes tries to play with them but they are much bigger. She loves food too much so it must be measured out twice daily. She is perfectly housebroken and enjoys being outside with the family in the backyard. Paisley enjoys cuddling and would love a family member she could sleep with each night. Paisley enjoys walking on a body harness and lead. She will require a coat in the winter due to her short hair coat. She is a quiet gal until someone comes to the door. Paisley was not physically abused so she loves men and women equally. She should not be crated as it is necessary for her at this stage. Her foster home cleans her ears once a week. The ideal home for Paisley would be a family with older children as she loves them. She enjoys cuddling and gives sweet kisses so affectionate family members are a must. Paisley is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4dx tested negative, on heartworm flea/tick prevention, and has had a dental. Her fecal test was negative. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory to apply for Paisley.
