Odin

Hi! My Name Is Odin

We're happy to tell you that Odin has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Odin. He was one of 11 puppies born to Mommy Stella on July 20 but one of only 5 who survived the Parvo outbreak.  He is a healthy pup now weighing 3.75 kg at 9 weeks.  He has a medium-length coat.  His Mom is a golden/lab/retriever and her father is a Red Retriever.  He will be about 45 lb when fully grown.

Odin is a really adorable boy.  He recently learned how to give kisses but has always been a big hugger.  He really enjoys his mealtimes.   He plays very well with his siblings.  This litter's favourite type of toys is interactive ones.  They are brilliant and like toys that make them think.  He enjoys being outside and plays outside with the other dogs in her foster home.  Gryphon, another puppy currently up for adoption, plays all the time with this litter, though he is 2 weeks older.  Odin likes to climb up on the chairs and couches in the living room.  He is so proud of himself when he gets up there as he knows he is the smallest.

Odin currently is eating Royal Canin Medium Breed Puppy Food three times a day.  He is learning to go outside and is paper-trained.  He does quite well in the bathtub and for having his nails done.  He does very well in the vehicle in the car and does not get car sick.  Odin currently is the smallest in the litter.

Odin has typical Retriever traits including enjoying carrying things in her mouth, playing chase with the other dogs, and being extremely affectionate.

The ideal home for Odin is one with a family who will take him to obedience classes and teach him to walk on a body harness and lead.  One day, when he is fully bonded and trained with his family, he will be a good candidate to be off-leash at a cottage or on hikes.  We are not sure how he will be with birds, but his Mother Stella hates them.  As always, a second socialized resident dog in the home is a bonus.

Odin is healthy, and up to date with vaccines, including Bordetella, microchipped, and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention.  His neuter will be included in her adoption fee at the West Lorne Animal Hospital.

A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for Odin.

Thank you very much to Melissa Caron Photography for capturing their true selves in these photos!
