Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Navidad, brother to sister Feliz. He is a husky/shep mix with a fluffy coat. We believe he may reach 70 lbs when fully grown. They were owner surrenders from a First Nations Community.
Navidad has really evolved since arriving in Rescue after he was given away without being weaned from his Mom. Both Feliz and Navidad took a lot of extra care to gradually introduce puppy food, as they had only had milk. It was a gradual process and they now look really healthy. We are guessing them to be Husky/Shepherds. Navidad is very playful and has played well with other puppies. He is fed in a crate and is currently eating Acana Puppy Food twice daily. He really had the "smarts" of the shepherd. He will run and bark at the kitchen sink if he is thirsty and out of water. He is clean and loves to go outside to explore and play. Eventually he will have a thick coat so will get warm easily in the warmer seasons. Both Feliz and Navidad are vocal when they are playing, typical shepherd traits. He listens quite well for his age and has shown positive recall skills. He loves to chew on all sorts of toys. He and his sister are like little bear cubs.
Navidad will do fine with another socialized older dog or fine as a single dog. He enjoys being around his foster family and just loves mealtime.
Navidad is up to date with vaccines, dewormed and will be microchipped before his adoption is finalized.
A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for our Navidad.
