Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Nacho Nelly. She is one of 7 puppies, born to Mommy Angel on January 19th. This is National Popcorn Day so they have all been named after popcorn flavours. They are yellow lab mixes. They will have short/medium hair coats when fully grown. We do not expect them to reach more than 45-50 lbs. There are 4 girls and 3 boys in the litter.
Nacho Nelly has grown into a lovely mix. She was spayed on Jan 6, 2025 and weighed 21.3 kg. She is the smallest in the litter. She is the bravest and the most playful. She loves to play with dogs and with her family. She is very outgoing once she gets to know you. The vets said she was very sweet when in for her spay. She eats twice daily and can handle muliple food changes due to the donations we receive.
She listens well in her foster home. Her recall is good in a fully fenced area. We know she has some hound in her so does have a prey drive. She has not grown up with cats so would require a cat free home. She adores children and gives lots of kisses. She does paw a lot when excited but she is still in her adolescent age.
Nellie would do well where a family is home a fair amount. She would enjoy another dog for company when the family is not home, and a male would be best at this stage She loves all sorts of toys and loves being outside. She has a short haircoat so requires a coat in the cold weather.
On March 15, they had their first set of vaccines, including Bordetella, and were microchipped. Nacho Nelly weighed 5.0 kg.
UPDATE: On April 26, she had her second set of vaccines, including Lepto and Lyme vaccines. She weighed 9.8kg
UPDATE: On May 21, she had her final set of vaccines. She weighed 14 kg.
UPDATE: On Jan 6, 2025, she was spayed and weighed 21.3 kg.
A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for our Nacho Nelly.
