Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Mango. He is one of Momm Cherry's babies who was adopted and recently returned. Here is the reason verbatim from his previously family:
We have an older dog that is showing aggression towards Mango. Unfortunately, Mango and Jack had an incident that really alarmed us and we don’t think Jack should be in the home with another dog. Mango is a puppy and Jack seems to be having some anxiety over Mango’s energy. Mango is a wonderful dog and loves other dogs.
This incident involved a fight over food as both dogs were fed side by side. This is a big no, no for any dog that is food motivated. He is doing very well in foster care and gets along with all dogs and plays with them as often as possible both inside and outside. All dogs are fed in their crates. His previous family did a wonderful job with him. He knows his basic commands and has very good recall. He rides like a dream in the vehicle. His health is good and he is in excellent condition. Mango loves children as he has been raised with them. His appetite is huge. He is food motivated but does have a sensitive stomach. He is fed a diet of lamb and chicken and rice dry food, twice daily. He will bark when someone comes to the door but he doesn't bark unless there is a reason to do so. He enjoys lots of different toys and is housebroken. He has been around dogs his entire life so another socialized younger dog, instead of a senior, would be a better fit. Mango has a short hair coat so minimal shedding. Mango weighs about 40lbs. He is a bit shy at first but comes outof his shell quite quickly. Food is the way to this boy's heart. Mango walks pretty well with a leash and body harness as his previous family took him for walks. This breed is loyal and playful. He will make a wonderful family member for the family. He will excel in an obedience class as he is very smart.
The ideal home for Mango is one with another playful socialized dog, where they get a fair amount of time outside to play with each other.
Mango is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.
A fully fenced backyard, a Veterinarian History of Compliance and another socialized playful dog are mandatory in order to apply for our sweet boy Mango.
