Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Jenny. She is a 2-year-old Beagle mix weighing 11.1kg (24lbs). She has a short haircoat, and Jenny was found as a stray.
Jenny is a darling little girl. She has a very gentle disposition and is quiet. Typical to her breed mix she is curious, a lover of all, and loves to be around other dogs regardless of size. Her best buddy is Caselle, a lab/Great Dane whom she plays with all the time. She has a typical hound appetite. Her food is measured out twice daily otherwise she will eat until she is sick. She loves cuddles and is very alert. Jenny is housebroken as well as pee pad trained. She does pretty well on a harness lead but will need more work and more experience being walked on one. She rides excellently in the car. She has a few periods of high energy throughout the day when playing with another dog but is not a high-energy dog. We consider her a medium-energy gal. Jenny is a little timid at first when meeting people but quickly warms up. She is definitely food motivated. She is not destructive in the house and is too tiny to counter-surf. She is never crated as it is not necessary. She is out of the chewing stage. Keeping her stimulated with lots of toys is the key.
The ideal home for our Jenny is one with another dog to play with, or at the very least a companion dog. She would love a family that would take her for walks and to obedience class where she will excel due to being food motivated. The family must understand she could never be off leash unless in a fully fenced yard due to her breed otherwise she will follow her nose and be gone.
Jenny is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4dx tested negative, and on heartworm/flea/tick/prevention all season.
A fully fenced yard, a Veterinarian History of Compliance and another resident dog companion is mandatory to apply for our Jenny.
