Holly

Hi! My Name Is Holly

We're happy to tell you that Holly has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Mommy Holly.  Holly, we believe,  may be a Spaniel/Hound mix.  The vets have estimated her to be 3 years old.  She has a short haircoat.  She was found as a stray already pregnant. She was covered with ticks and tested positive for Lyme, which we treated her with Amoxicillin and Doxycycline after she finished whelping.  She now weighs 25.7 kg.

Mommy Holly came to our Rescue fully pregnant and gave birth to 6 beautiful babies on July 4.  Unfortunately, the litter was compromised due to the Parvo Virus.  There was one survivor, Baby Gryphon, who we are currently accepting applications for.  Holly had no signs of the virus and has been very healthy since entering our Rescue.  She was a great Mom, very patient.  Baby Gryphon is very much like her, calm, friendly, and loving.  Holly's foster family has never heard her bark.  We therefore have no idea what her bark sounds like.  She is an extremely gentle and friendly dog, and would not be the best watchdog. LOL.

Mommy Holly can be found sleeping on her Karunda bed when in the home.  She is very relaxed and a low-energy girl.  She is fed twice daily, with her food measured out.  She does not have the appetite of a hound, resulting in her not being the type of dog that will eat until she is sick.  Holly is loving without being overbearing.  Holly is housebroken and very clean.  She will walk on a lead and enjoys going for walks and car rides.  She doesn't bother with her baby Gryphon any longer but he has other doggie friends to play with.    Holly loves all people and children.  She takes treats gently from your hand.  She is currently eating Royal Canin Medium Breed Adult Food.

The ideal home for her is one where she gets to spend lots of time with the family.  Cuddling up on the couch with her people gives her so much joy.  She loves to go for walks but will always need to be on a leash as we think she has hound in her and would trot off following her nose, typical of that breed.  Children will be just fine with her, the more family members to love, the better.  She is wonderful with all dogs, so another dog would be a bonus for her.

Holly is spayed, up to date with vaccines, dewormed, on heartworm/flea/tick meds, and microchipped.

A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for our Holly.
