Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Feliz, sister to Navidad. She is a shep/husky mix with a fluffy coat. We believe she may reach 50 lbs when fully grown. They were owner surrenders from a First Nations Community.
Feliz came to us far to small and young. She had not been weened so it too a good month to gradually get her to eat solid puppy food. We were concerned about her size so it took a lot of extra monitoring to ensure she would flourish. It was a gradual process and they now look and are really healthy. Currently Feliz is the follower and her larger size brother is the leader. They play well together. Feliz is learning to play gently with the other small puppy in the foster home. She is fed in a crate and is currently eating Royal Canin Small Breed Puppy food twice daily. We find they both do better digesting the smaller kibble. twice daily. She, like her brother, really have the "smarts" of the shepherd. She will run and bark at the kitchen sink or bathroom if she is thirsty and out of water. She is clean and loves to go outside to explore and play. Eventually she will have a thick coat so will get warm easily in the warmer seasons. Both Feliz and Navidad are vocal when they are playing, typical shepherd traits. Her recall has improved as she has matured. She loves to chew on all sorts of toys and plays tug of war every day with rope toys. . She and his sister are like little bear cubs.
Feliz will do fine with another socialized dog or fine as a single dog. She enjoys being around his foster family and just loves mealtime.
Feliz is up to date with vaccines, dewormed and will be microchipped before her adoption is finalized. On January 18th she had her booster. She weighed 6.2 kg.
A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for our Feliz.
