Druisy

Hi! My Name Is Druisy

We're happy to tell you that Druisy has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Druisy.  She is a 9-month-old Great Pyrenees/Hound mix. She weighs 60lbs and should reach 80lbs when fully grown. She has very soft medium length fur.  She was found as a stray. Druisy has done very well in her foster home.  She is very social with the other dogs.  Her best friend is Linus, as they play with each other and like to sleep together, having come from the same shelter and are so close in age.  Druisy listens well and comes when called and will sit for a treat.  She came in too thin so is currently fed puppy food twice daily.  She is not crated, so far has shown no destructive tendencies but most likely would counter surf if given the opportunity due to the hound in her.  She is a quiet dog and barks only if there is a reason.  She loves the weather here, having come from Alabama, the snow is just her favorite thing.   She plays quite well with the other dogs and loves to play tug of war.  Druisy is food motivated, and intelligent, making training quite easy.  She is housebroken and rides well in the vehicle.  Due to her mix, both breeds having prey drives, we are looking for a cat-free home for her.  She gives great hugs and is friendly and affectionate.  She talks (not barks) when walking on a leash.  She will require more exposure and practice on the leash but is not leash aggressive and isn't too bad on a leash and body harness. The ideal home for Druisy will be one with older children, as he is still learning not to jump up when excited.  Another socialized dog in the home would work but is not mandatory. The home must be cat free. Druisy is spayed, fully vaccinated, 4dx tested negative, dewormed, and microchipped. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance is mandatory to apply for our Druisy.
