Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Chester Cheese. He is one of 7 puppies, born to Mommy Angel on January 19th. This is National Popcorn Day so they have all been named after popcorn flavours. They are yellow lab mixes. They will have short/medium hair coats when fully grown. We do not expect them to reach more than 45-50 lbs. There are 4 girls and 3 boys in the litter.
Mommy Angel came to us as a pregnant stray, an owner surrender. She was a fabulous Mom, and it was obvious to our trained eyes, this was not her first litter. All the pups look exactly alike and we can only tell them apart by their microchips.
Chester Cheese has continued to be the largest of the group. He is a very handsome boy, more filled out than his siblings. He adores his crate and is the least energetic of the three. He too is very food motivated and has a prey drive. He still requires a lot of exercise but doesn't seem to be a climber like his siblings. He is affectionate and loves being around people. He would be fine as an only dog.
Chester is fed 2 cups twice daily. He is more mellow than his siblings and loves having toys and antlers to chew on in his crate.
Snuggling with the family completes his day, watching a movie or a hockey game.
The ideal home for Chester is one where the family is active outdoors. He needs to run off leash and it can only be in a fully fenced area due to his hound mix. He loves the summer and the winter equally. He does listen well and knows his basic commands but food will always be his motivator. Definitely no cats for these three siblings.
On March 15, they had their first set of vaccines, including Bordetella, and were microchipped. Chester Cheese weighed 4.8 kg.
UPDATE: On April 26, he received his second set of vaccines including Lepto and Lyme. He weighed 11.1 kg.
UPDATE: On May 21, he received his final set of vaccines. He weighed 16.4 kg.
Chester will be neutered prior to adoption finalization.
