Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Caramel. He is one of 3 puppies surrendered by a backyard breeder who could not sell them. Their Mom is a Red Siberian Husky and the Dad is a Short Haired Saint Bernard. They all have medium length coats. They were born on National Ice Cream Flavour Day, July 1, 2024, hence the name Caramel. We estimate her to reach 50 lbs when fully grown.
Caramel has matured into a beautiful girl. She is still quiet in her foster home and doesn't play as much with the other dogs as does her sister Pecan. She loves her crate and sleeps in one overnight. Caramel does well in the bathtub and has learned to walk on a lead. Currently fed twice deal, 2 cups twice daily, various types of adult food. She is more of a follower than a leader. Her coat is thick and soft She took to crate training right away. Caramel; loves mealtime and really enjoys a variety of toys. She has lovely green eyes and his coat is soft and thick. This little gal may reach 60lbs, certainly not the size of his Dad. AS of August 19th, she weighed 25.2 kg. Their paws are not large and she is very muscular.
Due to their breed mix, she gets warm easily so is loving the cool Autumn months. They all like to chew so bully sticks and other durable Kong like toys do well for them. She sleeps on a Karunda during the day.
Their temperaments are calm, not hyper like a Husky. They are quiet and only barks a little when playing with each other. They do not get carsick and behave well when in the vehicle.
They will need to learn how to walk on a harness and lead. They learn new tasks quickly and go outside to potty.
Caramel is up-to-date with vaccines, spayed, microchipped and is dewormed.
