Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Bobby . He is 7 years young and is darling sweet boy. He was surrendered to our Rescue when his owner passed away and the remaining family member could no longer look after him.
Bobby is a great beagle boy who instantly fits into any family environment. He loves children, dogs and cats and is no trouble in his foster home. He entered our Rescue in an obese state at 80lbs and now under a strict Veterinarian Diet is at his ideal weight of 40 lbs. He is fed twice daily one cup each time and is now on Performatrin Healthy weight to maintain his studdly physique.
This darling really is a joy to walk as he is so social. He had come to us having had a history of seizures so is on seizure meds twice daily to manage them which have worked perfectly. The cost of the meds are about $80 a month but we promise you, its well worth it to have this loving boy as part of your family. No worries that he will not like cats, be gentle with people and children and like the company of other dogs. He is a very well rounded boy who knows his basic commands.
What a joy he is to foster. Seniors are just the bomb, so easy going with no training required. He knows his basic commands and is housebroken. We were told by his previous owner he was so smart, he learned how to open the fridge which contributed to his weigh issue. He does not require crating and sleeps in a doggy bed at night. He can be trusted alone as long as there is no food areas for him to access. He is extremely resourceful and intelligent.
The ideal home for this beagle boy is one where he can be walked twice a day. He may be vocal if he catches the scent of something but that is standard in any beagle. He would enjoy another pet in the home for company, cat or dog. He would be great for a quiet family unit or a senior family looking for company. He can never be trusted off leash in an unfenced area, as hounds are escape artists who will follow their noses and bolt.
Bobby is neutered, up to date with vaccines, 4dxtested negative and on heartworm flea tick prevention. He is also microchipped.
A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for our darling Bobby.
