Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Avalon. He is one of 7 puppies born to Mommy Venus, sadly with only himself and his brother Frankie surviving. Mom is a beagle but we do not know who the father is as she was already pregnant when we pulled her from the shelter. When fully grown, Avalon will be under 30lb and have a medium soft hair coat. Mommy Venus weighs 20lb.
Avalon is just the most affectionate puppy ever. He loves to hug, and give kisses and you can cradle him in your arms like a baby. Avalon is so charming. His personality and demeanor are both gentle and enduring to all who meet him. Avalon is currently eating Performatrim (now called Prime) small-breed puppy food. He is paper trained and will learn quickly to go outside now that he is vaccinated. He tends to get warm easily so does enjoy the air conditioning. His Mommy Venus and brother Frankie, play together all the time. She is a fantastic Mom and has taught them well how to play nice and not to eat out of her food bowl if she is eating. She is extremely affectionate as well. Avalon enjoys playing with smaller size toys and stuffies. He is not bad in the bathtub, just whines a bit. Avalon rides well in the vehicle and doesn't get carsick. Avalon is paper trained.
The ideal home for Avalon is one where there is another resident dog. Hounds do so much better in a home with another dog as they are pack oriented. He will require a fully fenced yard as hounds will follow their nose regardless of whether or not they are bonded to their family members or not.
On June 17, he had his first set of vaccines. He is now microchipped. He weighed 3.03kg. He has been dewormed every two weeks since birth.
UPDATE: 2nd set of vaccines done on July 14. He weighed 5.5kg.
UPDATE: Final set of vaccines done on August 12. He weighed 8.2 kg at 11 weeks of age.
A fully fenced yard with another socialized canine, is mandatory to apply to adopt our Avalon.
