Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Luna. She is a 3 1/2-year-old, perhaps Husky mix, but not too sure. She weighs 36lb and has a thick medium length fur coat with an undercoat. Luna was surrendered as the family was having another baby. Luna is a real doll and another wonderful family dog. Her foster family has woken her up on purpose with zero issues. Luna loves her walks and is excellent on the leash. Her previous family stated that she can be dog reactive on a leash. She knows to come, sit and stay. People remark all the time how much smaller she is in person! She is allowed on the furniture and is no trouble in her foster home. She plays well with the other dogs in the home as she did with her previous family's pet as well. Luna currently sleeps on a doggie bed or her foster parent's bed. She is playful, happy and gentle with people and children according to her previous owner. She requires a home, they believe, with children over the age of 5. They said she did great with their 4 and 7-year-old. She loves mealtime and her food needs to be measured out. She receives a 3/4 cup of small breed dry food twice daily. Luna gives wonderful hugs and kisses and enjoys the same from both adults and children. Her previous family believes she has a high prey drive as she doesn't like cats. She is quiet in her foster home and only talks when playing with the other dogs in the home. The ideal home for Luna will be one where she is walked at least twice a day. She should really o to obedience training, more for the socialization aspect of it, then the practical. She is very smart and would excel we belie, in her classes and have a great time. She needs to be brushed regularly and will shed throughout the year due to the double coat. The family must be able to understand and expect this to occur. She has had her previous Mom home most of the time so are looking for a family where there is a family member home often. A second well-socialized dog would be a bonus. Luna is spayed, heartworm tested negative, up to date with vaccines, microchipped on heartworm prevention and flea prevention.
