Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Petunia.  She is an 18 month old Boxer.   She weighs 48lbs.  Petunia was found as stray.    She has a shory hair coat.

Petunia is just a wonderful Boxer gal.  She passed 8 weeks of training in the Barkburn, A new leash on life prison training program.  She know knows sit, stay, leave it, come, down, off and watch.   She comes with her certificate of completion and the hand signals used.  This training uses treat rewards for their methods.

Petunia does well with other dogs but the shelter doesn't believe she would be good with cats.  She adores children.  She wagged her tail so much atat it got infected, from banging against solid objects.  She had to have her tail amputated and now can wag it as much as she wants.

She is housebroken and has a very good appetite.  She is fed twice daily.  Petunia is crate trained but doesn't require it in her current foster home.   She is known to be a fence jumper so a solid wooden fence, a minimum of 6 feet high is a requirement.  She is a mid to low energy girl.  She does quite well in the vehicle but will require further leash/body harness training.  Petunia is very loving and quiet.  Loyal and family oriented, typical of het breed.

The ideal home for her is one where the family is home a fair amount.  She will require some off leash running time each day.  Once she is leash trained, she would make a good jogging partner but not in the hot weather.

Petunia is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, on flea and heartworm prevention as well as microchipped.

A fully fenced yard, minimum ,6 feet wooden, and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for Petunia.
