Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Jenna. She is a 1 year old adorable and sweet Redbone mix. She was found as a stray. Jenna has a short hair coatand weighs 50lbs. Jenna is an extremely loving hound. She loves everyone and especially children. Typical of her breed mix, she is very food motivated, sleeps a fair amount, must be leaning on another dog or person when sleeping and loves to play with other dogs. We believe she will reach 60lbs when fully grown. She is quite tall with her Redbone long legs. She is a low to mid energy gal. Jenna loves playing with other dogs. She was a timid insecure girl when she arrived in foster care. She was a Velcro dog, sticking like glue to his foster mom. Eventually she learned to trust others from watching other dogs and a few car trips for some Timbits. Now she is a confident dog who has learned that new situations are okay. Jenna rides well in the vehicle. She needs work on learning to walk on a leash and a body harness. As with any hound, the ideal home is one with another resident dog to keep her company as hounds tend to get seperation anxiety. She is crate trained, so she should be crated when the family is out due to the fact that she is still in the chewing stage. She can never be off leash in an unfenced area as she will follow her nose. We do not know how she is with cats. Jenna is spayed, 4dx tested negative, fully vaccinated and on Heartworm prevention. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for our Jenna.
