Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Sapphire. She is the sister to Ferris who we took in from a local shelter after they were found abandoned, along with their other two siblings. They have a short hair coat currently and are estimated to be medium sized when fully grown.
Sapphire is the leader of the two siblings. Ferris follows her for direction currently. She is curious and outgoing and loves to be outside playing. Her level of focus and intelligence is obvious when observing how she interacts with the other foster dogs in the home. They both took to crate training right away and use their crate for eating and sleeping. Currently, she is being fed, three times a day, Royal Canin Labrador Puppy food. The siblings play well with each other and are in their glory with all sorts of toys. They both sleep together through the night.
Sapphire listens very well. She will excel in obedience classes. She too is affectionate and is learning that bath time isn't such a scary thing. AT this point they both are quiet allowing the other foster dogs to bark when someone comes to the door. She too, like her brother leaned her name, within an hour of having it spoken.
The ideal home for Sapphire is one where she is socialized with people on a regular basis. This breed is a fabulous family dog whose loyalty will be demonstrated all the time. We are looking for a family that will take her to obedience classes to continue her socialization and keep her mind active. This breed requires a job to do so stimuli involving thinking tasks on a daily basis is very important.
Sapphire is up to date with vaccines, de wormed and will be microchipped prior to the adoption. She is on heartworm flea tick medicine as well.
A fully fenced yard or farm is mandatory for our Sapphire.
Thank you to Steven Taylor Photography for showing casing Sapphire's beauty.
