Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Mommy Angel. Angel was one of 8 dogs surrendered to our Rescue by a local family who decided it was not the breed they wanted. She is a yellow lab mix as is her mother and father who have since been adopted. She has a short/medium hair coat.
Angel is the daughter of Mommy Lexi and was about 8 months old when she came to us. It turned out she was pregnant so she has been in foster care since December 2023. Angel had 7 beautiful puppies and was a terrific and nurturing Mom. Her puppies were born on January 19th and are currently up for adoption.
Angel has a wonderful endearing personality. She is loving, quite calm, knows how to sit and give paw thanks to her foster family that had her up until she gave birth, She had lived outside with her Mom and her second litter, and Dad. Dad was chained to a tree and Mommy Lexi gave birth in a shed. She came to us without a name, so we named her Angel as it was close to Christmas.
This lovely gal is now ready to find her forever family. She is healthy and no longer too thin. She does well in her foster home with other dogs and her puppies are still available for adoption. Everyone who meets Angel comments immediately how sweet she is. Angel has gone from 3 meals a day to 2 now that she is the ideal weight of 21 kg. She is fed a mixture of 4 different food brands but will eat any brand. She has done well with a diet with grains in it. She loves to go outside with her family and will be fine as an only dog or with a male buddy. Angel has ignored the feral cats outside of her home as we know there were cats in the shed where she took shelter.
The ideal home for Angel is a family that will include her as a family member. Being allowed on a doggie bed to sleep in someone's room would be beneficial as she has been surrounded by other dogs her whole life and would be lonely if left to sleep alone. She is not crated as she is not destructive and is housebroken and paper trained. As an only dog, she will play with all sorts of toys as she is still a baby herself. Angel is obedient and gentle so do very well living in a home with children. Her demeanor is just as nice as her M0mmy Lexi's is, and her brother Timmy's. Angel rides well in the vehicle so a family that travels will have no issue with her enjoying the ride.
Angel is spayed, and fully vaccinated, including Lyme, Bordetella, and Lepto. She has tested negative in her 4dx testing. Angel is also microchipped.
A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for our Angel.
