Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Scarlett. She is a Cavalier/Poodle mix with a curly hair coat. Scarlett came with her breeding partner as a backyard breeder surrender in Ontario. She is years old.
Scarlett came to our Rescue not fixed or vaccinated, with zero vetting and grooming. She had been used a part of a breeding pair and had multiple litters. She was very timid but more social then her breeding partner Ace at the onset. Her fur was so thick and long, it was very hard to see if she had any medical issues under the fur.
Once we got her to the vet, they shaved her down. Her teeth were in terrible shape so she had a major dentistry removing the majority of them after completing a course of antibiotics. She had bloodwork done and her 4dx test was negative. She had a bladder infection which was rectified with a second course of antibiotics. At her last bloodwork test her white blood cell count was marginally elevated but she was ready for adoption. Since all her Veterinarian treatments, she is a different dog. She doesn't drink or urinate as much, she is so much happier, social, and loving. She loves to be held and talked to.
Scarlett is fed twice daily and is on Royal Canin Small Breed Senior food. She is not given and treats due to her ability to gain weight easily. As she does not know how to walk on a leash, she will get more exercise and be able to partake in those extra goodies. She sleeps on a doggie bed beside her foster parent's bed at night. She is never crated.
Scarlett is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, has had a full dental and is on heartworm/flea/tick prevention.
A fully fenced yard is mandatory to apply for Scarlett.
