Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Kumquat. He is one of 11 puppies born to Mommy Cherry on May 2, 2021. There are 6 females, and 5 males in the litter. Mommy's Cherry's DNA has been done and she is 3/4 Australian Cattle Dog and 1/4 Terrier. We have no idea who the father/fathers are, but we believe they have Mountain Cur in them. Mommy Cherry is about 38lbs. We believe this litter will range between 30-50 lbs. We estimate them to be mid-size dogs when fully grown. Kumquat is very sweet. He is affectionate and will curl up in your lap and fall asleep. He is intelligent and alert. Thanks to his terrific foster family, he is now crate trained, housebroken and leash trained. He lives with three children, 9, 11, and 14. He sometimes sleeps in his crate but usually in the bed with one of the family members. He is very vocal when playing with other dogs of any age, typical of his breed. Kumquat is very food motivated. His food is measured out three times daily and he is on Royal Canin Medium Breed Puppy Food. Kumquat gives kisses and hugs. The ideal home for him is an active family that takes their dogs out to enjoy the great outdoors. Hiking, boating, going to parks, and baseball games, will also ensure socialization with other people and animals. He should be enrolled in a positive approved obedience class so he can be the best he can be. Kumquat is bow fully vaccinated including Lepto and Bordetella, microchipped, and on heartworm flea/tick prevention monthly. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory to apply for Kumquat. We will not adopt to families with children under the age of 6.
