Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Champion. He is a 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, with a naturally docked tail. Champion weighs about 36lbs. He has medium length fur and was found to be a stray. Champion arrived in our Rescue emaciated. Once all the vetting had been done, we concentrated on a diet of puppy food, three times daily, which resulted in him becoming a very healthy weight. Once he put the weight on, be become much more energetic and playful. He no longer is afraid of people and loves to give and receive affection. Champion is wonderful with other dogs. He plays all day long with them. He is very gentle with children and not nippy. We are guessing she doesn't like cats due to her breed mix Champion is now fed twice daily, and is still receiving puppy food. This fellow is quiet. If he barks, it is more of a yip, which is also a catlledog trait. He sometimes barks when playing with other dogs. Champion loves children and is very gentle with them. He does not try to herd them or nip at their ankles. He is fully housebroken and paper trained. Our boy loves being around the family. He does enjoy the outdoors but does get cold easily as he does not have a thick coat. Champion rides excellently in the vehicle. He needs work on a leash and body harness and he is not used to going for walks. The ideal home for Champion is one where he gets to participate in family activities both inside and outdoors. He must be allowed to sleep in a family member's room on a doggie bed and not left in another room in a crate. Another socialized resident dog would be a bonus. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance is mandatory in order to apply for Champion. A farm property will also be considered due to his breed mix. Champion is neutered, up to date with vaccines, 4DX tested negative and dewormed.
