Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Tawny.  We believe she may be a Great Pyrenees/Great Dane.  She is a beautiful 3 year old, weighing in at 70 lbs.  She has double dew claws on the back of her feet and has a medium length coat.

Tawny was found as a stray.  She has a lovely temperament.  She enjoys playing with other dogs immensely.  She is a mid energy dog as long  as she gets enough playtime with other dogs.  If she doesn't get playtime with other pooches, she will dig out of boredom.  If she sees a squirrel, her energy level magically changes to one that is high level!  She will try anything to get at them  so it is for this reason we would not trust her with cats.

Tawny is very gentle despite her size.  She takes treats very gently and loves children.  Tawny loves to be hugged and cuddled and will give back gentle kisses.   She gets along well with the other dogs in the foster home.  Tawny is housebroken and crate trained.  She does quite well tethered in the vehicle.

We believe the ideal home is one where she gets a lot of family attention.  Another large, very playful resident dog, a fully fenced yard (minimum 6 feet high wood) and a history of Veterinarian compliance Is mandatory in order to apply for for our Tawny.  A body harness will be required in order to walk her and she is too strong and tall to be walked by a child.

Tawny is spayed, up to date with vaccines, Heartworm Tested negative and on flea and heartworm prevention.
