Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Radar.  He is the sweetest Shepherd/lab mix you will ever meet.  He weighs 52lb and is 1 1/2 years old.  He has medium length fur and was found as a stray.

Radar came into the shelter with a bad back leg that had to be amputated.   The vets there said it was an old injury that consisted of a pelvic fracture and the head of the femur.  The fracture healed backward, not allowing him to use the leg.  He gets along very well and plays with the other dogs.  There are 4 stairs in his foster home that he is able to use with no problem.  He is good with the birds in the home but we do not know about cats.

This boy is loved by everyone who meets him.  He is just always so happy.  He is still a big puppy.  He loves dogs of all sizes. He loves to be with children and gives lots of kisses to them.  Radar has very soft fur.  He is fed twice daily, Royal Canin large Breed Sensitive Digestion food.

Radar is both housebroken and paper trained .  His surgery has healed well as per our vets.  He sleeps on a doggie bed in his foster parents room at night.  He is a chewer if bored , so requires lots of bones and chew toys.    He doesn't jump up on people but will use his head to nudge you for hugs and pets.

The ideal home for Radar is a bungalow or raised ranch.  He needs to be allowed to sleep in same room as a family member.  It's best that he doesn't go for walks.  Romping around in the backyard is what is best for him.  Lots of car rides will make him so excited.  He loves going in the vehicle and should be allowed to stretch out on the seat in the back.  Preference will be given to home with another socialized buddy to keep him company.  A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for our Radar.

Radar is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed 4dx tested negative and microchipped.
