Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Orchid.  She is a beautiful lab mix.  She is just over a year old and has medium length fur.  She weighs 56lbs.  She was found as a stray.  She has some striking auburn highlights throughout her black coat.

Orchid is just a loveable big pup!  She is very playful with toys and other dogs.  She craves interaction with her family and is incredibly smart.  She learns very quickly and is eager to please.  She has calmed down significantly since arriving in foster care.  She is both housebroken and paper trained.

She is fed in an extra large crate.  She travels best on an empty stomach.  Once she is relaxed she is good in the car.  She pulls and is strong on a leash and harness so work and practice is a must.  She enjoys being brushed, hugged and cuddled.    She loves dogs and children.   She is a social butterfly, loving meeting people at the park.  We do not know how she is with cats.

Orchid had a great appetite and takes treats gently.  She no longer jumps up on people or mouths them when excited.

The ideal home for Orchid is one where she family member is home quite often.  Another resident canine would be a bonus so she can learn the ropes.

Orchid is spayed, up to date with vaccines ,4DX tested negative and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for Orchid.
