Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Issac.  He is a Blue Heeler mix.  This darling boy is 4 years old and weighs 45lbs.  He has a medium length coat and a docked tail.  Issac was found as a stray.

Issac is very typical of the cattle dog breed.  He is good with other dogs, as long as they don't get into his face.  He is very family oriented and we can see he is missing his previously family but no one ever claimed him.   He is good with children but we would recommend older children, those who will understand that this breed doesn't like to have them in their face.  He is loyal and loves to be around all family members.  Issac is quiet and barks only if there is a reason.  He is housebroken and does not need a crate.  He is not destructive in the home.

Issac is very smart and learns quickly. He is not a big eater and tends to be fussy.  We think that his previous family most likely fed him table scraps so he is getting used to eating a high quality commercial dry dog food.  He likes being outdoors but not by himself.  He enjoys company.
He walks well on a body harness and lead.  He does well in the car but tends to get carsick so best he travel on an empty stomach.  He us very sweet and gives gentle kisses.  He takes treats nicely from your hand.  Issac does not like cats.

Issac's ideal home is a fairly quiet one.  This breed does better with a calm home life.  He would love to go for long walks and hikes.  He will bond quite quickly with his family.

Issac is neutered, fully vaccinated, 4dx tested negative, dewormed, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention and microchipped.

A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for our Issac.  If an applicant has a far property we will consider those as well.
