Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Hoss.  He is an 82lb Mastiff mix, perhaps with a smooth coat Sharpei.  He is 5 years old.  He was an owner surrender as his family was moving and couldn't take him with them.

Hoss is a very loving guy.  Big head and barrel chested, just right for hugs.  Hoss will be very loyal to his family and will be with them within a few days.  He is housebroken but crated when the family is out.  He would love to lay on a doggie bed at night in a family member's room.  He eats twice a day in his crate and is a mid energy dog.  He is very strong on a leash so will require a body harness and lead.   He is a happy guy.
Hoss is good with most dogs but is an alpha male.  He doesnt like cats according to the shelter. Hoss has good recall and will sit on command.   He will benefit from basic obedience training.  This fellow is food motivated which will help with additional training.  Once he gets over the initial excitement of getting to ride in the car, he settles down nicely.

Hoss really loves children.  He must miss his previous family so much.  He loves to be with the family as much as possible.  Cuddle time and watching movies with popcorn?  He's up for the challenge.
The ideal home is one with large dog experience.
Due to being surrendered, he will need consistency in his and his family's routine.  He has had so much upheaval, that a typical family lifestyle would suit him just fine.  Hoss will not do well being left alone too long during the day.

Hoss is neutered, up to date with vaccines, heartworm tested negative.

A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for Hoss.
