Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Hoss.  He is an 82lb Mastiff mix, perhaps mixed with a smooth coat Sharpei.  He is 5 years old.  He was an owner surrender as family was moving and couldn't take him with them.

Hoss is a very loving guy.  Big head and barrel chested,  just right for hugs.  Hoss will be very loyal to his family and will bond with them within a few days.  He is housebroken and crated at night only because he is in a multiple dog foster home.  He would love to lay on a doggie bed in someones room with them.  He eats twice daily in his crate.  He is a mid energy dog.  He is very strong on a leash so will require a body harness and lead.   He is a happy guy.

Hoss is good with most dogs but is an alpha male.  He doesn't like cats according to the shelter. Hoss has very good recall and will sit on command.  He will benefit from basic obedience training.  This fellow is food motivated which will help with additional training.  Once he gets over the initial excitement of getting to ride in the car he calms down nicely.

Hoss really loves children.  He must miss his previous family so much.  He loves to be with the family as much as possible.  Cuddletime and watchng movies with Popcorn, he is up for the challenge.

The ideal home for Hoss is one with large dog experience.  Due to bring surrendered he will need consistency in his and his family's routine.  He has had so much upheaval that just a typical family lifestyle will suit him just fine.  The family must sign up for Obedience training asap.   Hoss will not do well being left alone too long during the day.

Hoss is neutered, up to date with vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and on flea prevention.

A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for Hoss.
