Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Emmy.  She is a 5 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd mix.  The shelter believed she had some German Shepherd in her.  She is an extremely sweet gal who was surrendered to the shelter when her previous family had a baby and no longer had time for her.  She weighs 34lbs and had medium length fur.  Emmy was next on the euthanasia list when our Rescue pulled her as her time was up!

We have a hard time believing Emmy is 5 1/2.  She is very active and will play with her foster fur siblings for hours on end.  Her temperament  is lovely and she is very smart.  She has learned  that she cannot jump up on her family members and is housebroken.  She is fed in a crate twice daily   She trys so hard to be included in any hugs and kisses her foster family gives out.  She is both food and praise driven.  She plays very nicely with other dogs and loves them all.

She walks quite well on a body harness and is excellent in the vehicle.  She is not a barker in her foster home.  She adores children so it is a shame her previous family did not make time for her.  We do not know how she is with cats.

The ideal home for Emmy is one with another socialized dog.  She should be included in the families activities as often as possible.

Emmy is spayed,  fully vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, on heartworm and flea prevention and microchipped.
