Barks and Meows introduces our lovely Brownie.  She is a Boxer/Plott Hound mix.  Brownie is 10 months old and weighs 40lb. She has a short hair coat and was an owner surrender.  The family said they didn't have the time to train her.

Brownie is a very loving gal.  She is still a big pup.   She will need a patient family to teach her the basics.  She is food motivated so that will help and has proven beneficial.    She is in the chewing stage so should be crated when the family is not home and at night.  She is her foster family's shadow so doesn't like to be left alone too long. She enjoys playing with other dogs but can be loud and play a bit rough.

Housebreaking is a work in progress.  She loves her toys and requires many to help her through her chewing stage.  She is a bit mouthy when excited so positive reinforcement and redirection to a toy will help get her out of this stage.  She adores the children in the home and vice versa.  She readily accepts their hugs and kisses.  Cuddle time is great once she is all pooped out.  She is currently a high energy dog.  She will really benefit from obedience classes and continued socialization.  She will willingly smother you with kisses, with her tail wagging the whole time.  Brownie is fed twice daily snd is on puppy food.

She should be taken out for three walks a day.  She loves going for walks snd gets so excited.  She is a bit timid of new people and situations so continued desensitization will make all the difference.  Playing fetch is her favorite activity.

The Ideal home for Brownie is one where the family has and makes the time, to complete her training.  An active family that includes her in their activities will be important.  Another resident dog would be fine but one who likes to wrestle and is at least the same size as her.

Baby girl Brownie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, 4dx tested, dewormed and microchipped.

A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian history of compliance is mandatory in order to apply for Brownie.
